Start with where the water comes from
Roof water, driveway runoff, neighbor runoff, patio slope, compacted soil, and low lawn areas can all push water toward a structure. A good fix starts by identifying the source.
Grade matters before products
If the land slopes toward the house, a drain alone may not solve the issue. Grading, swales, downspout routing, or hardscape corrections may need to work together.
Patios and walkways need water planning too
Hard surfaces shed water quickly. If patios, walks, or drive areas do not move water correctly, runoff can pool at edges, soften base material, or create freeze-thaw issues.
The goal is controlled discharge
The best solution moves water to a safer area where it can drain, disperse, or exit without flooding a neighbor, damaging landscaping, or creating a new wet spot.
